Equipment Review: Yes! Golf Sandy Putter
by Jeffrey Reed, Editor, LondonOntarioGolf.com
We’ve reviewed a few Yes! Golf putters here at London Ontario Golf, but the latest flat stick from Yes! to cross our desks is arguably the best of the bunch: the new Sandy compact mallet putter.
If you don’t know the secret to Yes! Golf putters by now, here it is: the C-Groove technology on the face prevents skipping, jumping, hopping – and probably the yips, too – because it promotes an automatic true roll. I used the original Callie blade putter from Yes! Golf en route to a local course record.
Enter the Sandy, which Vicky Hurst used to recently record her second victory on the Duramed Futures Tour. Check this out: 27 golfers used a Yes! putter at the LPGA’s U.S. Women’s Open. There are currently more than 200 tour pros around the world using Yes! putters, and countless amateurs, thanks to the C-Groove technology.
In our books, the Sandy is not only the best putter amongst Yes! Golf’s 24 models; it’s also the prettiest. It features a streamlined double delta back (say that five times fast) for a quick alignment reference, and high MOI. Strokes with the Sandy are smooth as butter. A face-balanced mallet, the Sandy features a head weight of 355 g, a loft of 2.5°, lie of 72° standard (2° flat or 2° upright also available) and double bent shaft (lengths 32-37 inches).
Available in LH and RH models, the Sandy is made with one-piece cast construction with chrome-plated 304 steel and blast finish. A classic cavity-back design with squared-off dimensions offer easy alignment, and a single sight line in the cavity back offers even more confidence at address.
At MSRP $190, the Sandy is a steal. I highly recommend the Sandy from Yes! Golf for golfers of all abilities. For more on Yes! Golf’s C-Groove putters, visit www.yesgolf.com.
