Accessory Review:
Pocket BC
by Jeffrey Reed, Editor, London Ontario Golf
Other than long drives, golf is a game which rewards small numbers. Now there’s a golf product which, despite its small stature, rewards smart golfers: the Pocket BC, a pocket golf ball cleaner which has earned the PGA Tour Partners Club Member Tested Seal of Approval.
The Pocket BC operates on a simple theory. Measuring slightly smaller and thinner than an ultra-thin cell phone, this ball cleaner closes at the edges via magnets. Think of it as Venus Flytrap for dirty golf balls. A microfiber inner lining and waterproof outer lining keeps the inside moist, the outside dry. Moisture and dirt is locked inside thanks to the magnets.
This gizmo is easy to use and very effective, as I discovered during a wet day on the course. First, thoroughly wet the microfiber inner lining. Next, wring out excess water by squeezing the Pocket BC outer shell. When you ball gets dirty out on the course, simply place it inside the shell which contains the scrubbing mesh and microfiber cleaning surface.
The Pocket BC does just that – it fits in your pocket while you enjoy your round. And, unlike a cell phone, it won’t disturb your playing partners when you call on it to clean your ball.
I like this product – it’s simple in design yet effective when you’re playing lift, clean and place.
