Accessory Review:
Frogger Golf BrushPro
by Jeffrey Reed, Editor, LondonOntarioGolf.com
What’s the worst job in golf? No, not caddying for John Daly. Cleaning your clubs and shoes, particularly after a messy day on the links, is about as much fun as chasing Tiger Woods on a Sunday afternoon.
Here’s a product which crossed our desk with much recognition – and for good reason: Frogger Golf’s BrushPro, an ergonomically-designed tool used to clean clubs, grooves, shoes and spikes.
BrushPro has already won golf’s Oscars, capturing Best New Product at the 2008 PGA Merchandise Show, and receiving an almost unheard-of 98-per-cent recommendation rating by the PGA Tour Partners Club.
It goes without saying, clean grooves are as important to your golf game as is a clean ball. Concurrently, shoes that aren’t clean will see you slide on turf just as quickly as a downhill putt at Augusta National on Master’s Sunday.
If you want to improve your game without spending a fortune, the BrushPro is up to the challenge. The tool is simple, yet clever. Released in 2007, the BrushPro features combo bristles and a retractable groove cleaner which thoroughly removes dirt and debris from iron grooves. A sleek ergonomic design and retractable cord compliment any golf bag.
I like the fact the BrushPro accommodates replaceable brush heads and groove cleaners. And it looks good hanging from you golf bag, unlike some attachable tools.
I put the BrushPro to work after a late-fall round at my club, following the melt of our first significant snow fall of the year. Talk about punishment – for me and the BrushPro! Thumbs up for this tiny but mighty accessory: it performed admirably, both on my shoes and my clubs.
Available in four colours, and carrying a MSRP of $14.95 US, the BrushPro will make a perfect stocking stuffer this Christmas.
