Equipment Accessory Review:
Fix-Master from Starting Time
by Jeffrey Reed
How many times have you been paired with a golfer who incorrectly repaired a divot on the green? Perhaps the question should be, how many times have you wrenched your lower back while repairing a divot?
Here’s a new tool that solves both of those problems: Starting Time’s Fix-Master. It’s a four-pointed prong which fastens to the end of any putter grip with pressure-sensitive tape, and a specially designed wide-flanged screw which attaches through the vent hole of the grip without damaging the putter. Why didn’t someone think of this before now? The Fix-Master is designed to properly repair ball marks, plus save your lower back from unnecessary pain. Heck, if you use a belly putter, you can fix divots on the green at the next hole!
Starting Time says its Fix-Master helps heal scars far faster than conventional divot repair tools. I’ve never had a problem doing this, but I do have a lower back issue, so Fix-Master has won a new fan in me. Starting Time president Hugh Penton says, “It is so easy and efficient to repair a mark while standing that golfers who will often repair only their own mark only part of the time will repair three or four with the Fix-Master.” Says Penton, “It is actually rather addictive.”
The Fix-Master leaves small holes around the ball mark, aerates the green, and thus promotes faster healing while eliminating the tearing of grass roots. And, there’s even a ball marker in the cap covering the divot tool when not in use.
Fix-Master sells for $9.95 US. Visit www.startingtimegolf.com for more information.
