Accessory Review: Dry Hands
by Jeffrey Reed, Editor, LondonOntarioGolf

The biggest issue I encounter on the golf course (other than golfers ignorant to etiquette) is perspiration. I regularly use at least four gloves per round – more on a hot, humid day.

Nelson Sports Products, Inc. of Baton Rouge, Louisiana offers a product which it calls a “non-sticky gripping solution for hot, humid or rainy conditions.” Dry Hands, a liquid solution to grip problems, actually repels water, and does not leave your hands with any sticky residue.

Dry Hands lists its contents as SD alcohol 40, Silica, Methyl Glycol, Phenyl Trimethicone and Cyclomethicone. It’s advertised for use by athletes in numerous sports – including tennis, bowling, baseball, football, basketball, gymnastics and weight lifting. The reason is clear: the product keeps hands dry, allowing for consistent gripping of equipment.

Dry Hands recommends your hands be clean and dry before applying the product. Just a small dab the size of a nickel is all that is required. After spreading evenly over your hands, allow Dry Hands to dry for 15 to 25 seconds.

MSRP for Dry Hands: 1 oz $5.97 US, 2 oz $8.97 US. For more information, visit www.dryhands.com.
