Accessory Review: Bag Boy Rain Canopy, by Jeffrey Reed
Does your golf bag include an easy-to-use rain hood? Perhaps my question should be, are you an avid golfer who only leaves the course due to lightning? Let’s face it: our golf season in southwestern Ontario is short, so even recreational golfers take a chance on weekend weather. And with hot, hazy and humid providing a triple threat, it’s easy to get caught in the rain.
Bag Boy, best known for its excellent line of push and pull carts, offers a great little accessory which protects not only your clubs, but also your bag. The Rain Canopy is a waterproof cover which is designed to fit all golf carts. Most rain hoods I’ve used over the years are cumbersome at best, and they don’t protect my expensive cart, staff and tour bags.
The Rain Canopy does, and it’s easy to use. It comes with a full front zipper for easy access to all of the bag pockets. Waterproof material extending across the length of the entire bag keeps it dry – and keeps valuables dry, too. Vinyl material keeps your clubs dry, thanks to a retractable canopy for easy access to clubs. As well, there are no tools required for assembly. And, it doesn’t look out of place on the golf course.
We’ve all experienced rounds when we’re scoring low, and even a torrential downpour won’t force us off the course. And few of us can afford the luxury of a caddy with umbrella in hand. Consider the Rain Canopy from Bag Boy your personal rainy-day valet.
The Rain Canopy retails for $59.95 US. For more information on this and other Bag Boy products, visit
