Asscessory Review:
Cleatskins Golf Golfskins
by Jeffrey Reed, Editor, LondonOntarioGolf.com
If you’re like me when trunk slamming, you sometimes put on your golf shoes (with course-friendly soft spikes, of course) and drive to the course. Sure, it saves time, and the cleats are not going to mark up any flooring (although my wife would beg to differ). But, have you ever thought about unnecessary damage you are doing to your golf footwear? Not enough golfers regrip during the course of a season, nor do they treat their footwear with TLC.
Here’s a cool product that lets you tie your laces at home and gets you to and from the course with ease: Golfskins, from Cleatskins Golf.
Think of Golfskins as a golfer’s modern version of rubbers, similar to what your father wore over his dress shoes on a rainy day, but with a twist. Golfskins protect your golf shoes, offer a safe track, are economical, save time, and provide a practical yet fashionable way to convert your golf shoes to street shoes.
Golfskins seal in dirt and grass from the outside of your golf shoes, protecting carpets and floors. You would think my wife designed these shoe skins! Needless to say, the carpet inside our front entrance is permanently dimpled. No more, thanks to Golfskins. Their unique SKINTEK rubber compound helps protect against slipping and falling. I know I’ve taken more than one spill while wearing my shoes off the course – and that was long before I hit the 19th hole.
Needless to say, with a MSRP of $35.95, Golfskins will save you money by protecting your soft cleats. They’ll save you time because you won’t have to tie your shoes in the parking lot, or in the clubhouse. Here’s something cool: Golfskins can be cleaned by throwing them in the washing machine, or you can hose them off after 18 holes.
Cleatskins Golf Golfskins are available in a rainbow of colours, and in both men’s and women’s sizes. And, they look great, too. For more information, visit www.cleatskinsgolf.com
